Ontario Sport Symposium
The 2018 Ontario Sport Symposium brought leaders in sport from across Ontario to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto to share ideas, recognize achievements and so much more.
ParaSport Ontario was pleased to attend the conference and share the Try Me program with participants and discuss the advancement of more Parasport opportunities in Ontario. Our athlete ambassadors were on sight to provide insight and give demonstrations about the many different adaptive sports available for people to try.
With a growing number of people in Ontario living with disabilities and low participation rates in an active lifestyle for youth, it is more important than ever to create those opportunities.
The keynote speakers, Olympic gold medalists and skating duo Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, shared an open and honest discussion about the sacrifices in their life on the way to the Olympic podium with the crowd at the symposium.
There is plenty to look forward to in Ontario when it comes to ParaSport opportunities, Durham Region will play host to Ontario Parasport Games in 2019 and more and more clubs and programs are adapting sports to be more inclusive for all.
