Derek Wasser and The Food Dudes have won ParaSport® Ontario’s 2020 Community Impact Award. Last year ParaSport® Ontario created an award that celebrates those who don’t seek recognition. Rocky LoFranco was the initial recipient because his behind-the-scenes work impacted many who will never know that he made those opportunities possible. Similarly, this year’s recipient has played a major role in our largest events.

Amanda Fader, an Ottawa resident, has won ParaSport® Ontario’s Justin Hines “Say What You Will” Award. ParaSport® Ontario presents the Justin Hines Award each year to an individual who exemplifies character, integrity, and exceptional commitment to parasport. Inspired by Hines’s “Say What You Will” hit single and international acclaim, this award celebrates individuals who have been dedicated to advocacy, supporting, and promoting the abilities of athletes with disabilities and encouraging inclusive opportunities in sport and recreation.

Alan Dean, an Aurora resident, has won ParaSport® Ontario’s Dr. Robert Jackson Award. ParaSport® Ontario awards are bestowed based on outstanding effort in improving their skill and their contribution in growing their sport or activity. The award was presented at The Power Within online event by Dr. Jackson’s daughter, Johannah Jackson.
