Aristotle Domingo Wins “Ambassador of the Year” Award
Aristotle Domingo, a Toronto resident, has won ParaSport® Ontario’s Ambassador of the Year Award.
ParaSport® Ontario Ambassador of the Year award is bestowed because of his selfless dedication to connecting with the community and potential PO members, engaging them in activities and for the strong, dedicated contribution he makes to the para sport community. The award will be presented at The Power Within online event. Aristotle was chosen because of his selfless dedication to connecting with the community and potential PO members, engaging them in activities and generally for the strong contribution he continues to make to the parasport community.
Aristotle trains as double leg amputee tri-athlete. He plays sitting volleyball and golf, creates podcasts, celebrates accessibility, and constantly encourages others to try new things. He listens intently and smiles a lot and maybe that is a key to why he has become the 2020 Ambassador of the Year. Aristotle is described as a, “Joy filled athlete, communicator, teacher, advocate and actor.”
“I’m not the best runner. I’m not even a fast one. But it’s not about that, it’s about getting up and doing that,” he states. Aristotle never meant to be a hero; he ran his first 5k just five months after his surgery to prove to himself that he could. Consequently, he has inspired many as a para-athlete and advocate, and ParaSport® Ontario is thankful to have him represent the organization.
The Ambassador of the Year award will be presented to Aristotle on February 18th, 2021 during The Power Within celebration, ParaSport® Ontario’s first online event. The event is a celebration for the release of a legacy publication titled The Power of ParaSport, a written history of parasports spanning five decades, detailing the visionaries, pioneers, milestones, and athletes in Ontario. The night will be attended by award winners and special guests including professional speaker Alvin Law, trainer and advocate Johannah Jackson, singer-song writer Justin Hines, and Paralympian Jeff Adams.
