Kevin Rempel is a 2014 Paralympic bronze medalist in para ice hockey. After an injury at the age of 23, Kevin not only learned how to walk again, but overcame mental health battles to rebuild his life and eventually reach the Paralympic podium. Today, he is a full-time entrepreneur through keynote speaking and his corporate team-building program The Sledge Hockey Experience, and his coaching program on mental resilience, titled The Resilience Toolbox.
Parasport is very near and dear to my heart. My spinal cord injury put me on a path of living with a disability and pointed me toward supporting people with disabilities. ParaSport Ontario is a perfect fit to get involved, grow my own abilities, and help more people. If you need any guidance on sledge hockey, speaking, or building a business, please reach out.
We acknowledge the land on which ParaSport® Ontario was built is the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
