Sledge Hockey
Sledge Hockey
Sledge hockey is played by those with and without disabilities. Sledge hockey players use lightweight aluminum “sleds” with two skate blades attached to the underside.
Propelling the sled adds a new level of excitement and complexity to a game that is already famed for its fast speed and great teamwork. Players hold a stick in each hand. Each stick has a spiked end and a curved blade on the other. That’s two sticks for pushing the sled across the ice, stick-handling, passing and shooting. It’s a popular parasport for all, and for fans too!
