Adrienne lost her leg at the age of three and has been involved in many sports throughout the years. Competitive swimming, skiing and horseback riding were what kept her busy growing up. Adrienne became deeply involved in kayaking as an adult. What was supposed to be a recreational sport led her to be on the first Canadian Paracanoe team and a part of the effort to get Paracanoe added to the Paralympics. She continues to look for sports to play, including using her sit-ski on the slopes.
Hi, my name is Adrienne. I’m always looking for ways to get outside and try different sports. I’m happy to share my story and experiences with the goal of helping more people get active and have fun. I’ll be happy to hear from you!
We acknowledge the land on which ParaSport® Ontario was built is the Treaty Lands and Territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit and the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe, the Wendat, and the Haudenosaunee peoples, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. Today Toronto (also known as Tkaronto) is home to many First Nations, Metis, and Inuit peoples and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
